HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle released a statement Wednesday following an announcement by Dr. Casey Wardynski that he would resign as Superintendent of Huntsville City Schools.

“Over the past five years, Dr. Wardynski has had several great accomplishments in the Huntsville City School system.  We thank him for his work and express confidence in the Huntsville City School Board’s continued ‘search for excellence’ with our school system.  I have confidence in their choice of an interim superintendent and their ability to do a quality, nationwide search for a permanent superintendent to lead what we believe to be one of the best school systems in the nation.”
