Subject: Message from David Spillers – Hospice Family Care
“Few programs in our community have had a more meaningful impact on families than Hospice Family Care, Huntsville’s first hospice and the only not-for-profit program in Madison County. Since 1979, Hospice Family Care has touched thousands of families with services and support during the toughest of times.
It is very appropriate and exciting to announce that Hospice Family Care has joined Madison County’s only not-for-profit hospital—Huntsville Hospital. Our new relationship helps insure that Hospice Family Care continues to serve the community as it has for the past 34 years. It also helps move the community closer to filling an important need of having an inpatient hospice unit at our hospital.
Huntsville Hospital did not buy the program, but we’ve taken responsibility for it. HospiceFamily Care’s board of directors will continue to govern the organization and report to the hospital board. No other changes were made. They do a great job and we want to help them continue to fill their important mission.
” Our agreement was effective September 1, but will be publicly announced tomorrow. Please join me in welcoming Hospice Family Care to the Huntsville Hospital Health System.” – David
