HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - A Huntsville family is celebrating a new addition, and the birth comes with a neat coincidence.
"I couldn't have asked for a better Mothers Day present, for sure," said Lei-Ann Smith.
The Smiths welcomed their baby girl into the world on Mother's Day, making their family story that much more unique.
"We had our son on Father's Day, and then we had our daughter today on Mother's Day, so it's been exciting," said Smith.
High school sweethearts Lei-Ann and Adam Smith welcomed their daughter into the world on Sunday afternoon at Huntsville Hospital. Adalei was named after her parents and weighed in at 8 pounds, 7 ounces.
"It is our names put together, Adam and Lei-Ann, and so we tried to make it really special."
A son born on Father's Day, and a daughter born on Mother's Day -- something the couple couldn't have tried to plan if they wanted to.
"It's unbelievable that that would happen to us, so we're just trying to take it in... that this has happened to us. But it's just a fun little event and a great memory to have."
