Huntsville City Schools offer Butler High ‘treasures’ in online auction

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The doors are officially closed at Butler High School, but there are still tons of memorabilia that was left behind: uniforms, pictures, plaques, trophies and equipment.

In order to find these treasures a home,  Huntsville City School is holding an open house to give people the opportunity to see the items firsthand. The open house at Butler High is being held on Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The online auction begins on June 12 and continues through June 21.

Here is how the online auction works — Visit the auction website, www.govdeals.com, to view the items and register to bid. For this step you will need a personal email address and a phone number. Then, place bids on the website and watch for the auction to close to see if you are the highest bidder therefore winning the item. Lastly, winners must print the bidder’s certificate and pay for the item in person at 2800 Drake Avenue in Huntsville. You must take your item that day too.
