HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – 11-year-old Pate Stutts of Huntsville may have a hard time sleeping this weekend. He’s heading to Atlanta next week to dance on stage with Justin Bieber!

The Randolph fifth grader is one of four young dancers selected to join the artist on stage during his concert Tuesday night. Pate saw Bieber in concert in Birmingham in 2013. His mom, Rhonda, told us that he probably watched the dancers who were on stage that night more than Justin. And he later told his mother that’s what he wanted to do some day.

Well, that day has come. Pate, who has been dancing at several local studios since he was four, had to submit a video showing his dance moves. He also had to explain why he wanted to join Beiber on stage.

He got the good news this week in an email which says, “Congratulations. You’ve been selected out of thousands of submissions to join Justin Bieber on stage for the Purpose Tour in Atlanta for Show #1. I’ll wait while you scream. Okay. Deep Breath. This is really happening! Let’s talk about details.” Pate’s mother recorded his reaction on her cellphone.

Pate will head to Atlanta for all day rehearsals Tuesday and will join Beiber on stage when he performs the song “Children” during his Purpose Tour.
