Man badly hurt in house fire on Bob Wallace Avenue

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – A house on Bob Wallace Avenue, just across from Huntsville High School, caught fire around 11 a.m. Thursday.

The home is in the 500 block of Bob Wallace Avenue, and firefighters found a man inside who was unresponsive.  He was rushed to Huntsville Hospital.  We understand he was critically injured.

Huntsville Police and Huntsville Fire investigators are looking into the situation, but haven’t released any further information.

Firefighters believe the fire started in the back of the house. They’re working to determine how it started.

Traffic was blocked on part of Bob Wallace, from Henry Street to Gallatin Street for about an hour after the fire.  It reopened by 1 p.m.
