HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Rescue workers rushed a 20-year-old man to Huntsville Hospital in critical condition, after finding him unconscious at the bottom of a cliff on Green Mountain.

Responders say the man was hiking alone, and fell close to 80 feet.

Emergency crews received the call around 10:15 Sunday Morning, and they tell WHNT News 19 that the man had been missing around 16 hours when he was found.

Rescue crews say the dangerous terrain made the rescue difficult, there were 30-35 people on scene from Huntsville Fire Department, Huntsville Police Department, and HEMSI.

They believe he fell sometime on Saturday. They discovered him Sunday morning.

As of Monday morning, the man was still listed in critical condition in Huntsville Hospital.
