Friends Release Red Balloons For Rudy Mockabee

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Friends and supporters gathered Sunday to pay tribute to a local musical legend.

Rudy Mockabee, a former member of the Drifters, died on May 21.  He lived in Huntsville for 17 years.

Friends said Rudy once told them he liked the color red.  So, Sunday, about a hundred people gathered outside Hoppers at the Holiday Inn on University Drive to release red balloons into the sky.
