HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A building that once housed a longstanding restaurant was demolished Wednesday.

The former Duffy’s Deli, at 2324 Whitesburg Drive, was torn down.

The restaurant closed in late February after 22 years in business.  It was known for its friendly staff, great service and the famous white chicken chili.

The former owners, Terry and Linda Ledbetter, said James Boyce bought the property and plans to open a new concept restaurant in a two-story building. They say they wish him much success.

WHNT News 19 has reached out to Boyce for more insight.
