HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Jack Grier has had a tough life… but has come a long way! Jack and his twin brother Greyson were born 16 weeks early at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children, at just 24 weeks gestation.
Greyson was stillborn because of complications from twin-twin transfusion syndrome. But Jack Harrison survived. He weighed 1 lb. 7 oz and was 13″ long.
That was September 24, 2014.
Today, the family celebrates Jack’s first year of life. And to do so, they produced this beautiful and touching video.
Jack finally got to go home after spending 111 days in the Huntsville Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
We corresponded with Jack’s grandmother, who sent us this video, who says her favorite quote from Jack’s time in NICU is: “Some people become warriors, others are BORN warriors!” She also pointed out that preemies are fighters.
From those of here at WHNT News 19, We want to wish Jack Harrison Grier a VERY Happy Birthday! And, Grandma Coryn, we agree with you! The HHNICU does rock!
