REDSTONE ARSENAL – Thursday afternoon Redstone Arsenal officials evacuated all 10 floors of building 4200 after an odor was detected.

Building 4200 is the headquarters office of Marshall Space Flight Center.

A text alert went out to Arsenal employees around 4 p.m. Thursday, stating that the building was being evacuated due to pesticides in the ventilation. Redstone officials said all employees were successfully evacuated to the parking lot.

Employees were cleared to reenter the building around 5:30 p.m. The odor was traced to a “pre-emergent herbicide” that was sprayed outside the building. An Arsenal spokeswoman said no one was hurt.
