Defense Acquisition University South partners with Leadership Huntsville/Madison County

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Defense Acquisition University – South Region (DAU-S) and Leadership Huntsville/Madison County (LHMC) announced a partnership to support each other’s efforts to provide world-class training that leverages the expertise of both the public and private sectors.

DAU-South and Leadership will collaborate and coordinate for mutual betterment and improvement of the DOD acquisition workforce and enhancement of leadership skills within the local and regional community. The partnership will include exchange of learning events, guest lecturers, information, professional papers and joint projects.

This partnership between DAU and the Leadership program marks the first partnership of its kind among the five DAU campuses in the U.S. DAU supports the defense acquisition workforce throughout their career by providing basic, intermediate and advanced certification training, assignment-specific training, applied research and continuous learning opportunities.

DAU also fosters professional development through mission assistance, executive coaching,  rapid-deployment training on emerging acquisition initiatives, online knowledge-sharing tools and continuous learning modules. DAU South Region (DAU-S) is one of five regional DAU campuses established to provide quality corporate university services to geographically dispersed defense acquisition organizations. DAU-S serves a DAW of 28,000+ located in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Virgin Isles, and Puerto Rico.

More than 2,000 community leadership programs throughout the U.S. and world provide access to community leaders and organizations and while discussing topics as they relate to the community. Sessions expose participants to a variety of perspectives, illustrating the broad array of economic, political, educational, and social factors at work on all community levels.

In its 28th year, Leadership Huntsville/Madison County identifies proven and emerging leaders across all sectors of our community who have an interest in becoming more engaged. LHMC educates them in-depth about issues in major sectors of our community and how they can impact progress. And inspires and connects them to serve as agents of change throughout the community.
