HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) has arrested a suspect following a reported shooting incident and investigation on Charles Drive in Huntsville Thursday night.
According to Sgt. Rosalind White, a spokesperson with HPD, officers were called to the 4600 block of Charles Drive around 5:20 p.m. on Thursday evening.
HPD investigators believe there was a domestic dispute at the home which led to a shooting that killed 29-year-old Antonio Robinson.
Authorities arrested 32-year-old Kashonna Jenae Strong and charged her with murder.
Decatur attorney Carl Cole told News 19 on Friday, “Her bond has been set and her family should have her out shortly.”
“This is a clear case of self-defense,” Cole claimed. “Robinson attacked her, tried to strangle her, and was armed with a pistol and went for it. I’ve known Jenae for years. She’s a good woman. Her mother is a good woman. These are good people and I’m looking forward to defending her.”
HPD says the investigation is still ongoing.
