Visitors to the US Space and Rocket Center can get an up-close look at a replica of the Mars Curiosity rover.

Tim Hall, spokesman for the USSRC, says workers at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville built it for NASA.  The space agency took it for a while, but the US Space and Rocket Center asked NASA if they could get it back.

Visitors can watch a video about Mars while they look at the replica rover.  Crew trainer Diane Brown says the exhibit is particularly interesting for children.  "They're tired of hearing about geography on Earth and now they can study geography on Mars.  It has the same principles and the Moon also and it makes it more exciting.  It makes geography come alive for them and they want to know what's out there."

The Curiosity replica will be at the US Space and Rocket Center indefinitely.
