MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Madison County received high honors from CNN & Money Magazine this week.
The county is ranked number seven in the nation for Best Places for Job Growth.
The article says the military and private defense contractors command the growth in Madison County.
The article cites Toyota’s plant expansion and a new manufacturing facility for Carpenter Technology as two other reasons.
Madison County Commission Chairman Dale W. Strong said he is very pleased with the rating.
“Madison County is positioned perfectly not only for today but also for the days ahead related to economic development.”
“Six strong cities, unincorporated Madison County and Team Redstone create a very conducive business environment. And we’re more cost-effective – 20 to 30 percent more affordable than other states throughout the country,” Strong added. “Being named number 7 shows Madison County is truly the place to live, work and raise a family.”
Also making the list for Alabama, Lee County at number 22. The county is home to Auburn University. The article says Lee County has seen a nine percent job growth in the last couple of years.
