HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The City of Huntsville's Parks & Recreation Division opened the gymnasium at the Westside Community Center located at 125 Earl Street SW . Until June 1st, 2015, the Seminole Club, located between the Butler Terrace and L.R. Patton communities, did not have access to a gym. So, the city welcomed the kids to use it.

"When you're in a community like this, where you don't have a lot of resources, you don't have a lot of access, programs like this keeps kids busy, keeps kids in a structured program and keeps them on the right track," said Patrick Wynn, President of the Boys & Girls Club of North Alabama. "We can't thank the Mayor and the City enough for access to this facility."

The gymnasium is for all children ages 5-18 to use, not just Boys and Girls Club members.

"We don't want to restrict it to just the boys and girls clubs, that was the point of us getting access to this gym," Wynn said. "But, once they come here, we want them to become members of Boys & Girls Clubs."
