HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Roughly 80 divers will compete in the City Dive Championship beginning Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the Huntsville Natatorium. Then a city-wide swim meet will follow on Saturday and Sunday.
While you're there, you can also check out the city's plans for a new aquatic center.
There will be 18 pools competing. Some of those teams have 20 members, while others have as many as 100.
Swimmers ages seven and under start the morning portion of the competition on Friday. Organizers hope to get through the 12 and 13 age group before breaking for lunch around noon. The afternoon session will begin with a member of the newly-formed Dolphins Special Needs Swim Team. Then the group for ages 14 & 15 will follow. The "Open" division, which is open to any age group executing nine dives, will close out the evening.
