HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - As Campus No. 805 takes shape, a plot of land will soon bring a little retail therapy.
A 16,000-square foot retail space will hold 8-10 units. Developers are already in talk with a number of retailers, from restaurants to stores.
"We're trying total to people that are established here in the community but also trying to bring in new business and new jobs as well," said Joyce Skinner, campus manager.
The new retail development is going to be on the east side of the campus by the new Yellowhammer, turning what used to be a school track into a multi-use area that is about more than beer.
"We also have other spaces that are going to cater to families, with the park area as well as different restaurants," said Skinner.
The main Stone center is already taking reservations for November. Yellowhammer will be in place by November. Lone Goose should be open by the end of the year, and Straight to Ale in the spring.
"The retail space here, once we lay the slab, it should be completed within 6 months after the initial pour," explained Skinner.
Salty Nut Brewery will move into Yellowhammer's old location once they move on campus.
Skinner went on to say that Campus No. 805 is already being considered for weddings, corporate events, family and class reunions.
