HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Firefighters in Huntsville battled a fire at the City Fleet Management building on Johnson Road Sunday morning.

Employees of the Fleet Management Division tell WHNT News 19 they heard a loud boom shortly after 11 AM and immediately left the building.

A crowd gathered at the fence as fire crews fought the blaze, which began in one sanitation truck and spread to two others.

Employees say one truck costs about $300,000. They are in use Monday through Thursday, and usually remained off and parked in that lot over the weekend.

Fire investigators are still working to determine the cause of the truck fire.
