Athens Police Charge Man with Sexually Abusing Family Members

ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) – An Athens man has been arrested and charged with sexually abusing four family members.

Tomas Salgado  was arrested late Thursday afternoon and charged with 2 counts of Sexual abuse of a child, one count of Rape 1st degree and one count of Sodomy first degree.

Investigator Eric White was altered to the alleged abuse by family members of the victims on April 21 and has been investigating the case with the assistance of the Athens Limestone Child Advocacy Center.

All of the victims are related to Salgado.  Two of the victims were below the age of ten, one was twelve, and one was 19-years-old when the acts occurred.

Salgado was booked in the Athens city jail and transferred to the Limestone County Jail.

The investigation is still in progress and other charges could be forthcoming for Salgado.
