HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Drivers headed south on Memorial Parkway had major traffic headaches Wednesday morning.  There were two wrecks, one just north of Governors Drive and another just north of Airport Road.  Just before 8 a.m. traffic was snarled back to I-565, all the way to the Jordan Lane exit.

Both wrecks were on the Parkway in the southbound lanes.  There were also delays in the northbound lanes, though, as drivers slowed down to look.

After 9 a.m. the wreck south of Drake Avenue, near the Marine Reserve Center, was cleared.  In that one, a trailer had overturned that appeared to be carrying lawn equipment.  Drivers were diverted on the access road, but the delays went as far back north as Governors Drive on the morning drive to work.

The second wreck happened just north of Governors, and that one had traffic snarled back through the interchange with I-565.  Drivers headed south on the Parkway were also backed up all the way to University Drive.

The Parkway was clear by mid-morning.  No serious injuries were reported.
