HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A Downtown Huntsville shooting early Sunday morning sent two people to the hospital.

Huntsville Police said officers were called to a fight that became a shooting at Greene Street and Clinton Avenue just after 2:10 a.m. Officers said the shooting happened in the middle of the street, across from the Goodyear auto shop.

Juan Laws, 23, was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree assault. He was released from the Madison County Jail on a $6,000 bond.

Two people were taken to the hospital with what officers called non-life-threatening injuries.
