Alcohol, speeding believed to be factors in wreck on Research Park Blvd involving Uber, police say

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Two people are in the hospital after a two-vehicle crash involving an Uber on Research Park Boulevard.

First responders received the call around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday night. According to Huntsville Police, an Uber driver with a passenger was traveling south on Research Park Blvd when another driver rear-ended the Uber driver causing it to spin several times.

The driver who rear-ended the Uber rolled several times and came to rest on the left shoulder. Everyone was taken to Huntsville Hospital and police say there are no life-threatening injuries.

Police say that excessive speed and alcohol are believed to be factors.

Toxicology testing to be performed on both drivers but no one has been arrested, according to the report.

Research Park Boulevard was closed for a couple of hours to clean up debris.

This is an ongoing investigation.
