MADISON, Ala. — Huntsville Utilities restored power to a majority of customers in Madison City and Madison County Sunday morning.

Around 12:10am, Huntsville Utilities Electric Operations responded to a power outage and said service will be restored as quickly as possible.

By 1:30am, Huntsville Utilities followed up saying service was restored.

Anyone still experiencing a service related issue should call 256-535-4448.

Amanda Kemp, PR for Huntsville Utilities, said crews advised there were two 46KV insulators on the Main Bus that were flashed causing the 5 series to lockout.

Kemp said they appreciate the patience of customers as crews worked to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
