Huntsville police responded to stabbing at Creek Bend Terrace Apartments

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A man is recovering after being stabbed by his girlfriend multiple times.

It happened at Creek Bend Terrace apartments in the 3400 block of Venona Avenue in Huntsville early Saturday morning.

A Huntsille Hospital employee notified Huntsville Police of a man with several knife wounds to the arm, chest and side.

Huntsville police identify that man as Demetris Mitchell

Police say Mitchell told them his girlfriend, Laceshia Taylor had a knife and tried to slash the tires on his motorcycle.

Mitchell told police when he tried to stop her, she began stabbing him.

Police say they asked Mitchell why his girlfriend would do this, he told police she saw him with another girl at a club and was angry about it.

Police went back to the home, but say they couldn’t find Taylor.

Later on police say there were able to locate Taylor and arrested her.

She’s charged with Domestic Abuse.

Staff at Huntsville Hospital said the victim’s injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
