HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Huntsville Police are investigating a shooting that sent a woman to the hospital.

The shooting happened in the 2800 block of Cora Hill Avenue early Sunday morning. Officials say the woman was shot in the hand by a man after she was attempting to force her way into the man’s home. According to Huntsville Police, the shooting appears to be a domestic-related incident between a man and woman although they do not live together.

The woman is in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to a hand.

Reports are being made for both the burglary and the shooting. Police say that no arrests have been made as of 10:25 a.m. Sunday morning.

The names of the victim and person in custody are unknown.
