HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) —  Santa Claus said he was worried.  This year Huntsville was not going to have a Christmas parade — that is, until the fine folks over at the Von Braun Center and Lite 96.9 stepped up and took over.

Organizers said with only one month to get the parade ready there will be some changes from year’s past. The parade will be shorter, with entries limited to just 80.

  • Registration—The deadline for online registration (entry form) is midnight Friday, November 21, 2014.  Entrants will be pending approval.  They are on a time crunch this year, so please help us spread the word!
    • Approved entrants will receive an e-mail within 24 hours with instructions for lineup, safety meeting, rules, etc.
  • Theme—“Christmas Music” Organizers think this is a fitting theme for their first parade and there are lots of good songs to build your float around (Frosty, Rudolph, Hippopotamus for Christmas—to name a few)! Be creative!
  • Date—December 6, 2014
  • Time—Noon

Parade Route – Staging and line up will begin in Lot K on Clinton Avenue. The parade will proceed left onto Monroe Street, right on Greene Street, left on Williams Avenue and right onto Adams Street.
