House fire rekindles in Madison

MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) - Burgreen Road in now after a house fire rekindled overnight in the Madison area of Limestone County.

Firefighters were first called to the home at this intersection of Burgreen and Cedar Acres Drive around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Crews were there for a couple of hours and thought they had successfully extinguished the flames.

However, they were called back about 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

Firefighters found the house engulfed in flames shooting up 40 feet into the air.  Crews worked overnight to finally get the flames under control.

The home sustained fire and smoke damage from the original fire.  However, the home is now considered to be a loss.
