HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) - The local chapter of the 100 Black Men of Tomorrow, Inc. and local youth gathered at the Maple Hill Cemetery on Saturday morning to place American flags on the graves of those who served in the United States military.

As they knelt to place a flag near the gravestone, they knew they are honoring true heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

"This is one way we are giving back and showing our respect for our veterans on Memorial Day," Program President Eddie Williams said.

Williams said he hopes the youth learned the significance of these military men and women's sacrifice, and perhaps were encouraged to pursue a career in the military.
