HUNTSVILLE, AL - Well, it won't be long before the whistle blows and the helmets start smashing. The Grissom Tigers are looking to return to a place of prominence in Rocket City football, and get back to their winning ways this fall. Grissom hasn't had a winning season in 10 years.

But Dale Overton, a former receiver at Auburn, is  entering his second year as Grissom's Head Coach, and hoping to improve on last year's 3-7 finish. The players say the last couple of years have been disappointing, but in the short amount of time they've had in Overton's system, the team's confidence and work ethic have soared.

Grissom opens the 2013 season at home, August 29, hosting Hazel Green. E.J. Turner is one of the key returning players, as he pulls double duty at Receiver and Defensive Back. The Tigers will once again compete in the tough 6-A Region 7, against Lee and Huntsville High.
