JACKSON COUNTY, Ala. — Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey has appointed Willie Nance Jr. to serve the remainder of Tim Guffey’s term as Jackson County Commission chairman.

Nance’s appointment was one of several Ivey made Monday.

Guffey resigned in December, citing health reasons. His resignation came a day after the County Commission disclosed that the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency investigated allegations of improper surveillance at the Jackson County Courthouse.
