Georgia fugitive arrested in Scottsboro

SCOTTSBORO, Ala. – The Scottsboro Police Department, acting on a tip from the U.S. Marshals Service, arrested a fugitive from Georgia Tuesday.

Ivan Jesus Munoz, 24, has warrants for his arrest for Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery and Armed Robbery in Cobb County, Ga., according to the Scottsboro Police Department.

After being tipped off to Munoz’s location, detectives with the Scottsboro Police Department were able to find that Munoz had been staying at a local hotel. They said Munoz had been working in Jackson County with a contractor from Georgia.

Munoz arrested and charged as a fugitive from justice on Georgia’s warrants. He was transported to the Jackson County Jail, where he awaits extradition.
