Man shot in neighborhood off County Line Road; precautionary lockdown lifted at 4 Madison schools

MADISON, Ala. - Madison Police say a man was shot in a neighborhood off County Line Road on Wednesday.  While police worked to determine what happened, four Madison City Schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution.

James Clemens High School, Liberty Middle School, Heritage Elementary and Mill Creek Elementary were placed on temporary lockdown, but it was lifted just after 12:40 p.m.  The code yellow lockdown is used to secure all students inside a building when a potential threat exists off campus.

Police say a man was shot in the leg in the 200 block of Coral Court, off Hardiman Place.  This is in a neighborhood just off County Line Road.

The man shot is 24 years old.  He was taken to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.

Police obtained information that three suspects drove away in a dark green small to mid-size vehicle.  They were wearing masks. No further description was available.  Madison Police want to solve this case and ask anyone with information to call (256) 722-7190 or (256) 772-5674.
