Fort Payne, Ala. (WHNT) - "I'm playing for that blue trophy and I really think we can do it," Fort Payne senior QB Allen Smith said after a Fort Payne intersquad scrimmage last week. Smith and the rest of the seniors wearing black and gold believe they can make it happen as one of the smallest schools in 6A.

Paul Ellis knows the expectations are always high for his Wildcats. Ellis knows the people in Fort Payne love their football and they love the playoffs, but just making it there is only the beginning.  "We require a lot of these kids and we think the expectation is high and not just saying it but believing it and I think our kids believe."

The Wildcats play a jamboree game on Friday against Dade County, but will kick off for real on the 29th against New Hope.
