LINCOLN COUNTY, Tenn. – A Lincoln County man who worked as a bus driver for Madison County Schools entered a guilty plea to sex crimes against children Tuesday.
Joe Wiley Dixon pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated sexual battery and received a 10-year-sentence on each count, to run concurrently, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department. Dixon will serve the entire sentence.
Dixon was arrested in January 2015 in Lincoln County, Tenn. and charged with two counts of aggravated sexual battery and one count of aggravated rape of a child. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department said the two victims were under 10 years old.
Dixon worked as a bus driver for Sparkman High School, but resigned shortly after his arrest. Madison County Schools superintendent Matt Massey reported Lincoln County investigators confirmed no Madison County children were involved in the case.
Sources told us the crimes happened at a residential child care service run by Dixon’s wife on Stateline Road in Ardmore.
