MERIDIANVILLE, AL- For the 11th year, teachers gathered for the annual North Alabama Technology Conference.
"Technology is so big and so relevant in everything now. They're here to find the latest cutting-edge technology to take back to the classroom in the fall," said North Alabama Technology Conference Chairwoman Vickey Sullivan.
Administrators are also present learning the latest technology for entire districts and how to evaluate the use of technology. In today's day and age of ever-changing technology, the conference is more important than ever.
"Technology changes so fast. Things that we learned last year, some of those things have already died. Our teachers need to stay on the cutting-edge. Our students know it, so teachers need to be there for them," said Sullivan.
The conference is comprised of sessions and workshops, but the best part is the brain-storming. "One of the neatest things here is that networking capability. During lunch or in between sessions they can brainstorm ideas," said Sullivan.
Several technology companies sponsor the conference.
"That way, our teachers are able to see some of the latest technology. They can come speak to the people who know the most about it," said Sullivan.
