LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) -- An amazing rescue happened in Limestone County on Thursday. A dog was found tangled in fishing line in the Elk River. We are happy to report that the puppy is doing just fine. Limestone County Sheriff's deputies spotted the dog caught in the brush on the bank of the river. According to witnesses, one of the deputies jumped into the river and save the little guy. He was taken to the Limestone County Veterinary Clinic to get checked out.

The clinic said he is in fair health and should be ready for adoption by next week.
