Dog killed in Athens house fire

ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) – Investigators with Athens Fire and Rescue are trying to determine what started a house fire in the 2400 block of McClung Lane.

Officials say the fire started at about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday. No people were home when the fire started, however one dog inside the house did not make it.

Fire crews say it took about 10 minutes to put out a majority of the fire.
