HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Spelling is a pretty important skill and one students of all ages work on – from kindergarten to college.
The SpellingCity app from SpellingCity tries to make the repetitive nature of spelling study more fun. Users can play engaging learning games using word lists for various ages.
WHNT News 19 viewer Lisa Luis Peters recommended the app for WHNT News 19 This Morning’s “Click Picks” Back to School apps week. It’s free for download on both Apple and Android devices.
According to the app developer, the “most popular activities on the app are Spelling TestMe, HangMouse, and vocabulary games, available to Premium Members.”
The most popular word lists are “Sound Alikes, Compound Words, Hunger Games and SAT Words.”
The free app includes ten of the “most popular word lists” and ten of the “most popular learning activities.”
HangMouse, for example, is a cute little version of HangMan, offering an easy platform for spelling practice.
