The Huntsville City School system is about to wrap up a series of meetings for the public – focusing on proposed zoning changes.

A meeting will be held Monday night at 5 p.m. at Johnson High School. Tuesday’s meeting is slated for the same time at Butler High and Wednesday’s meeting will be held at Columbia.

Before those meetings end, parents of students in the district and homeowners in the area may want to spend some time online browsing the “Proposed School Zone Locator.”

That tool and others are available here on the school district’s website.

The Huntsville City School system is still operating under a federal desegregation order.  The rezoning plan will, according to Superintendent Casey Wardynski, ensure diversity and equality throughout the district.
