It’s that time of year we all dread – flu season. If you’re looking to protect yourself or your children, you might want to fire up the web.

Here are some great resources to check out on your mobile phone or computer:

WebMD’s app – Offers data on flu outbreaks by zip code. Open the free app and search for cold and flu to access the health center – complete with a handy map and additional resources.

Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s flu tracker website – Easy access to hundreds of resources for learning about flu symptoms, treatment and where it’s popping up around the US. The data is updated weekly when physicians report the number of sick patients they see.

Google’s flu tracking tool – Find data for flu outbreaks around the world and state-by-state. Google gets its data through searches.
