TENNESSEE VALLEY, Ala. (WHNT) – Limestone County Deputies said a man found his 54-year-old father’s body early Sunday morning in the Tennessee River close to the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant.
Authorities identified the body as Dickey Keith Nave around 8:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. Deputies said a boater found Nave’s empty boat and reported a missing person between 10:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Deputies said Limestone and Morgan County rescue squads, Nave’s son and several friends searched for most of the night. Investigators believe Nave possibly suffered from heart problems; a defibrillator device was found among Nave’s belongings.
It is unclear at this time whether the cause of death is drowning or heart complications.
