Man dead after vehicle crashes into Decatur Animal Services

DECATUR, Ala. – A man died after his vehicle crashed into the entrance of Decatur Animal Services Sunday night, police said.

Billy Maurice Petty, 69, was driving a pickup truck that crashed into the front of the building at the intersection of Central Parkway and Beltline Road just after 7 p.m., Decatur police said.

Petty was taken to Decatur Morgan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

The wreck is still under investigation.
