Update: Pedestrian in officer-involved wreck in Hartselle has died

HARTSELLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Hartselle police say a pedestrian struck in an officer-involved wreck Wednesday evening has died.

The incident happened on Sparkman Street shortly after 5:00 p.m. Hartselle police officials say the pedestrian, William Anderson, 71,  stepped out in front of the officer’s patrol car.

Police say Anderson suffered multiple broken bones and cuts. He was taken to Decatur-Morgan Hospital for treatment then transferred to Huntsville Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Alabama State Troopers were brought in to investigate the wreck.
