Man falls off a cliff in Morgan County

VALHERMOSO SPRINGS, Ala. (WHNT)   Volunteer firefighters and paramedics were on the scene of a rescue operation in Morgan County.

Talacuh Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief Bud Smith tells WHNT News 19 a middle-aged man tripped and fell from a cliff at an area called Lewis Bluff on the Tennessee River.   It’s located off of Talucah Road in Valhermoso Springs.

Smith said the man hit a rock on the way down and hurt himself.

Emergency crews transported him to Sunnyside Park by boat. Crews then called in a medical helicopter to take the man to Huntsville Hospital.

He is currently in stable condition.

Officials are not releasing his name at this time.
