Police Arrest Man on Meth Charges in Decatur

DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – Police arrested a man on meth charges Wednesday. They found him sitting in a truck behind a business.

Officers initially responded to a possible burglary call around 1:30 a.m. on Johnson Street.

Officers found 56-year-old Rodney Clayton Jones in a truck parked behind the business.

Authorities say they found meth on Jones and inside the truck.  Police say the also found a gun they believe to be stolen.

Hazmat crews were called to the scene for decontamination.

Jones is charged with unlawful possession and manufacturing of a controlled substance.  A charge is pending regarding the gun.
