LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ala. – Ashlin Lane Laster, 22, faces drug and prostitution charges after reportedly meeting an undercover drug agent for drugs. Sheriff Gene Mitchell says she agreed to meet the undercover agent to receive Oxycodone pills in exchange for sexual intercourse/favors.

According to Mitchell, this is a common practice for female drug users specifically.

The agent arranged to meet Laster at a secluded location for the transaction. When she arrived, agents learned she took her 5-year-old son with her. They say she left him in her vehicle playing video games.

Agents say they took Laster into custody after she received the drugs, at which time they noticed her trying to consume the Oxycodone by “shooting up” the narcotics into her arm.

The child has been placed with another family member by DHR.

Laster was booked into the Lawrence County Jail on a $7,500 bond, but she will be held to face possible probation violation charges.
