MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. – Authorities are investigating the death of an inmate at the Morgan County Jail.
The Sheriff’s Office confirmed Isaac Newton Throckmorton, 44, of Madison, was found unresponsive in his cell in the medical unit. Jail personnel performed life-saving measures before he was taken to Decatur Morgan Hospital but he died at the hospital.
Morgan County Coroner Jeff Chunn was called to the scene along with commanders from the MCSO.
Throckmorton was arrested Sept. 22 on warrants from Decatur for failing to appear on charges of DUI, open container and failing to comply with an ignition interlock, which is a device installed on vehicles to prevent people from driving under the influence.
