MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. – Four correctional officers at the Morgan County Jail were assaulted Tuesday night, according to the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office said Wednesday that Jamie Obrian New, 31, of Decatur, was being booked for public intoxication when he became combative.
Four officers were injured, according to the sheriff’s office. One had a concussion. The other three had knee, arm and hand injuries.
New is now charged with four felony counts of second-degree assault.
