TRINITY, Ala. – The funeral has been set for a Trinity man who died in a 4th of July kayaking accident. Buddy Wayne “Bubba” Johnson, 37, will be laid to rest on Thursday, July 9.

The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will follow at Grange Hall Cemetery. Johnson’s visitation will precede the funeral, starting at noon.

Trinity — Funeral for Buddy Wayne “Bubba” Johnson, 37, of Trinity, will be Thursday, July 9, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel, with Israel Milligan officiating. Burial will be in Grange Hall Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Johnson, who died Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Athens-Limestone Hospital, was born June 25, 1978, in Morgan County to Clevland Johnson and Linda Cockrell. He enjoyed drinking and watching Alabama football and NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his father, Clevland Johnson; and niece, Brilee Grace Taylor.

Survivors include his girlfriend, Stephanie Long; one son, Odis Wayne Johnson; his mother and stepfather, Linda and Jody Cockrell; and two sisters, Joyce Aguilera and Mary “Becky” Galindo.
